This section explains about the concepts of TCGs and how to play them. If you're used to playing in a TCG most of this will probably sound familiar, yet reading through it will help you understand some of the unique qualities in iCANDY.

TCG?

TCG's (Trading Card Game) were originally brought about by Calico online. Since then many have sprung up. This TCG is no different in you'll gain levels depending on the amount of cards you have in your deck, earning you rewards. You'll display your current level using a banner. The levels go as follows:

STARTER : Waiting to be added
RANK 1 : 1-75
RANK 2 : 76-150
RANK 3 : 151-275
RANK 4 : 276-400
RANK 5 : 401-575
RANK 6 : 576-725
RANK 7 : 725-850
RANK 8 : 851-999
RANK 9 : 1000+

As you rise up in levels you gain more cards which you use to trade for other cards with other members to try and assemble a complete deck. When you've done this you'll recieve a 'master' card to show off to other members. You can master as many decks as you wish.

GAINING

Here I'll outline the many ways on how to gain cards.

JOINING : When you first join you will get 2 random cards from your deck of choice and 5 random cards in the starter pack. This is what will get you started on trying to master your first deck and gives you some cards to help you trade!

GAMES : There are many games offered on this site that will give you cards when you accomplish the tasks they ask of you. Some are harder and require knowledge of the genre they come from (google is your friend), while others are simple and fun games that anyone can accomplish with a little time. A lot of the games are password protected and will take you to rewards that you can add right away to your collection (simply save the card(s) offered, and please don't press refresh and play only ONCE per round!). Other games are email forms so will take a little longer for the staff to reply or you may have to wait until the end of the round.

LEVEL UP : As I mentioned above, there are different levels in iCANDY and everytime you level up, you get cards! You recieve 1 random card from your deck of choice and 2 random cards each time you move up a level.

DONATE : You can get various amounts of cards from donating Banners, Buttons, and Pictures for card decks. It is further explained Here.

MASTERING : When you master you don't get only a master badge but cards also! You will receive 3 random cards and 1 choice card! Once you've mastered a deck you may no longer trade any of the cards from that deck. Mastered Deck cards however do still count towards your card total.

REFERRALS : For every person you refer you will get 2 random cards! Doesn't sound like much but if you refer a lot it really adds up.

BIRTHDAYS : We like to celebrate your birthday by giving you 1 choice card and 3 random and a card that signifies the month of your birth! One of the staff members should contact you around your birthday.

FREEBIES : I will randomly give away freebies which will be one of the easiest way to get cards. I will randomly add freebies to the navigation bar and you can usually take one of a group that will be located there.

Coupons/Tickets, what are they?

Something that makes iCandy a bit different is it's coupon/ticket system. You will find on this tcg, random and choice tickets for every color of deck here, and the rare, choice all ticket.

Tickets are tradeable for other tickets and/or cards (it is up to the user). For example you can trade a card you have and do not need for another players choice ticket that you DO need.

Tickets themselves have no card value, but are needed to master your decks. So make sure to turn them in regularly.

What your website should have on it.

Your website is the place where you display all your cards. If you don't have one, try Geocities to get a free one. It must contain certain things:

  1. A level badge displaying your current level.
  2. A link back to iCANDY (one common way to do this is to make your level badge a link here).
  3. Your member name, as it is displayed on the Members page.
  4. Your current card count.
  5. The card sets that you are currently collecting.
  6. The card sets that you are willing to trade with other players.
  7. A detailed Trade Log which contains dated entries stating how you obtained the cards in your collection.
  8. Some way of contacting you for trades. Usually either an email address, or a form.

Other common things you might want to include on your Trading Post are:

  1. A section for cards that you might trade, but only for cards that you need for a collecting set.
  2. A pending section, for cards that you have offered to someone for trade, but haven't heard back about yet.
  3. Any mastered badges you might have gotten.
  4. A section for the praizes that you have collected through games.
